The Phenom II X4 940 does pretty well here

• 32.3 FPS (29%) faster than the stock Phenom X4 9950
• 22.1 FPS (20%) faster than the Phenom X4 9950 overclocked to 3GHz
• 7.5 FPS (6.7%) slower than the Core i7 920
• 21.8 FPS (20%) slower than the QX9770

Here we can conclude that the benchmark is far more CPU bound than real world games.
