THE GOOD: + Great cars
+ Novel money system
+ Great controls
+ Rip your own soundtracks
+ Goods
THE BAD: - Annoying
- Not what a racing sim should feel like
- No controller configuration option
- Licenses
- The turbo part
- Not fun enough
- Not good multiplayer options
SUMMARY: Sega GT has all the makings of a great car game. Lotuses, fast courses and a fun career mode means it could have been the first great racer on Xbox (Project Gotham wasn't that good). However, it was hampered by serious control flaws (button for accelerate instead of a trigger?) and had some disappointing multiplayer options (only two-player split-screen) meaning it couldn't quite scrape the top of racing greatness that so far, only Racing Evoluzione, PGR 2 and Midtown Madness 3 have achieved. Sad, it could have been greater. Hope Sega GT Online does the game justice.
THE GOOD: - Has similarities to gran turismo - has some neat wear and tear
THE BAD: - abit too easy compared to gran turismo - also its not very big comapred to gran turismo
SUMMARY: This is probably the only racer i enjoyed on the xbox. Other games on the xbox get really old really fast. Why is that? Well because its more difficult..while other games just felt easy. Sega GT follows the model that made gran turismo a great driving simulator for consoles. Its not as great as gran turismo, but its probably the best game on the xbox for it. Unlike other racers on xbox..the controls are similar to the setup on ps2, where triggers are used for manual shift and the controller buttons used for accelerate and brake. One main thing i loved about sega GT is that parts of your car wear out over time and if you don't maintain it..performance suffers. I was surprised that my new turbo on my turbo charged Fiat didn't give me extra pace..i found out...
THE GOOD: Nice gameplay, not easy, very realistic, almost perfect graphics.
THE BAD: Not too many brands to select cars from.
SUMMARY: I believe it is one of the better games I have ever played. Very detailed and very realistic game play which allows to play for hours and hours without getting bored. Buy it you won't lose......................... ............................. .................................. ............................
THE GOOD: Graphics, Realism, driving style, everything!
THE BAD: Loading times, number of tracks, difficulty (too easy)
SUMMARY: This game, In my opinion, (if you like racing games) was absolutely awesome! The graphics are awesome, it has absolutely realistic driving style, and many great features. Some of these include Drag Racing, Rally (Winding Road Race), and some of the best cars ever to truly be created, even if they were never slated for production.
Some of the downsides, in my opinion, were the loading times. I know this game has awesome graphics and I am fine with its loading times but I hear a lot people complain about it and I agree it could be faster. Also the number of tracks, though enough, well there could be more, and should be more. The worst part of the game In my opinion is that its too easy, it needs a bit more of a challenge to it, like you shouldnt be able to beat some other cars on certain tracks...
THE GOOD: Graphics, realism, sound, and overall layout of the game and the way it's played are excellent!
THE BAD: Not obvious how to win "Special Prizes". Two-player mode would be nice in more than one single area. Main part of the game doesn't allow for more than one.
SUMMARY: This game is a blast. I'll admit that I'm new to Xbox, and therefore might find out that this is merely the tip of the iceberg, but I've spent over 80 hours playing this game (it came with my Xbox package!!!), and I've enjoyed it so much that I have had little desire to go out and buy another game (yet) other than Halo of course. As I said, great sound (I'm running Dolby Digital 5.1 of course), good graphics, very realistic. Trivia, and other car info is interesting. Just wish I could figure out how to win the "Special Prizes". I've won literally millions of dollars, and with more than eight different cars in each race of the "Event" mode, but still can't win the...
THE GOOD: Graphics are superb!, massive collection of the hottest street machines to ever roll off the assembly line.
THE BAD: Realism
SUMMARY: If you like fast cars, awesome graphics and spectacular landscapes this is the game to get. If you love realism, this isn't the game to get, not one car shows damage on the race track, you hit a tree(nothing), a car(nothing). Only good aspect of this game is you can fine-tune nearly every aspect of their car's performance - from the muffler and brakes to the suspension, body weight and tires. And the amount of cars ranging from the classics from 50s - 70s, to the latest prototypes from more than 20 of the world's biggest manufacturers. This game also includes a brief history lesson about car culture in each decade precedes every race.
This was the only part i enjoyed most. The history of each car was a fantasic read. If your a true hardcore gamer which loves racing games, well inspite of...
SUMMARY: Got this game free when I purchased my X-Box, ignored it for a while due to Halo, then finally gave it a go.
Don't like the presentation, the interface feels really clunky compared to other racing games (particulalry GT3 A-Spec which is the closest comparison)
Also, there isn't enough information about each race, particularly the specials.
The racing itself is fairly intense, the idea of having a damage meter is novel as it quite often gets fairly low whilst you're fighting you're way to the front, meaning an extra element of strategy comes into the game - do you barge everyone out of the way then drive real careful for the remainder of the race, or do you follow and pick spots to overtake (I usually go for the former)
My Main complaint with this game is the same one I have with GT3 A-Spec which is that...
SUMMARY: it has soo many cool cars and it keeps you entertained for hours on end. I like how the cars are always competion and it gets harder and harder further in the game. The drag races are also fun.But the best think that the best part is how you can fix your car up to be the best in every way.the graphics are soo real and I like how there isnt cheat I dont think.
THE GOOD: - Very good graphics - Lots of cars to choose from - Very nice driving physics - Damage - Drag Racing
THE BAD: - Not near enough tracks to choose from
SUMMARY: This is a very good game if you like racing games. If not I think you'll get bored of it quickly. So if you like racing games buy it (now comes with xbox along with JSRF) and if your not really into racing games then maybe just rent it.
THE GOOD: Excellent Graphics~Decent Gameplay~Good Concept
THE BAD: No Choice in Car Parts~Too Short~Low Amount of Races~Low Amount of Cars
SUMMARY: Car detail in cars are FANTASTIC and the whole garage idea is smart, but lacks detail in the game itself. Tracks are detailed and curvey, but lack in amount. Cars are good and detailed in graphics and gameplay, but also lack in amount. Gran Turismo on PS2 is a better buy for your money.
