Battery life (Depending on which model you choose.)
Scratches easily
SUMMARY: I have been very pleased with the functionality of the Apple iPod. I have used many versions of the iPod including the G5 iPod video, G1 iPod Nano and G1 iPod Shuffle and each has it's strong points. The iPod video and Nano use the famous click wheel which makes navigating through your songs, photos or videos extremely easy. The interface is very user-friendly and is very straight forward. The Shuffle, while it doesn't use the clickwheel or have a screen, is great for someone who isn't looking to hold a whole bunch of songs and wants the portability that it's small size gives.
iTunes, the program you use to load songs, photos and videos onto your iPod is an easy program to use once you figure out how...
The Apple iPod is the must succesful portible MP3 player in the world and has more things on it than just listening to music such as, you can watch videos / pictures, TV shows / movies; You can lock the iPod so if someone trys to use it they will have to put the code in the unlock it. You can play games on your iPod or if you want more ipod games you can go to the Apple website (apple.com) and you can download games at a certain amount of money. There is a stop watch on the iPod, make notes, voice notes, cloack, much more. There are many options to listen to must, you can shuffle them so it will play at random, play the last (so many songs) play songs with a certain amount of stars and much more, theres even a song search! Depending on how much memory yo have on your iPod depends on how much your iPod weighs or how big it is such as the 80GB model is slightly bigger and weighs slightly more than the 60GB model because the more memory the bigger the memory...
THE BAD: The distinctive white earbuds and size makes it an easily stolen item. It's now so light that you probably wouldn't notice it's gone. Unless you're on the other end of the buds, that it.
It has a low battery life as well, which can be quite annoying.
SUMMARY: The easy to use iPod has become a byword for evolution. In the time before the millenium, (it seems like a different era) we used to listen to CD and Tape Walkmans. If we wanted a change, we would have to lug around a backpack full of them. Now, however, for something that is smaller, we can hold 400 CD's/Tapes worth (about 6000) of songs.
It's relatively cheap, and its versatility is amazing. you can play video's and movies (all be it on a 6"x4" screen), look at pictures, and listen to songs. You can also keep brief memo's in the Notes, the calendar has all your important dates on (after all, I used it to...
THE GOOD: The Nano is sleek, small, and modern design along with great performance. Easy-to-use, iTunes is a great substitute for Windows Media Player.
It's probably the leading MP3 Player in the industry.
THE BAD: Fragile, battery life somewhat short. No video compatibility (iPod Nano, but what can you expect?).
SUMMARY: The Nano
The iPod Nano is truly a work of art, in my opinion. I only have a 1 GB iPod, and yet it is enough to fulfill my daily music needs. The Nano comes with headphones, a USB connector, a Dock Adapter, and a case (but if you want your iPod to last, or you just want to personalize it, I suggest you buy another). It also comes with a Quick Start Guide and a CD with iTunes in it.
What you have to do is just install the files on the CD to your computer, and just connect the iPod to your computer using the USB Connector. You can synchronize the iPod with iTunes, making it easy to upload and...
Keep your entire music library (or at least a big chunk of it) in a tiny piece of magnificent technology.
Great look, great feel, especially the Nano. It's mind-boggling how so much can fit in so little.
iTunes is rather easy to use. Anyone with a basic knowledge of computers and music can use it and get the most out of their iPod, no matter what version.
Unlike some MP3 Players, there really aren't too many connection failures. Then again, I have a newer computer....
Click Wheel is a stroke of genius. It's perfect for manuvering about the iPod's various modes.
THE BAD:
Very sensitive. I as smart enough to buy a carrying case for my Nano. Though the iPods now come with a case, it's not that great. I've heard of iPods dropping on carpets and getting scratched. the validity of that is unknown, but a high degree of care is needed for it.
SUMMARY: NB: Review based mainly upon 3rd Generation, 20GB iPod.
The iPod. Is there any other music player quite as well known? Quite as popular? The answer, no. Many people wonder just what makes it so damn good, what sets it above your run of the mill $30 MP3 players, what makes it one of the most popular fashion accessaries and what is really behind the unexplainable phenomenon. The truth is, it's a combination of things. The sleek portability, it seems weightless at times, and with it's very slim design fits perfectly into your pocket or bag, rather than those small and chunky MP3 players which are very uncomfortable. The 20GB and 40GB models are a moderate size, and the mini and nano are miniscule. The capacity. One of the biggest selling...
THE GOOD: Space for 1000 songs Teriffic Sound quality Many options and settings iTunes compatible Ease of use Enjoyable games
THE BAD: Headphone quality Battery life
SUMMARY: I got an iPod mini a few months ago now and in my opinion it is the best mp3 player on the market. The capacity is perfect for someone that is not overly fanatical about music. At 1000 songs (4GB), there is over 40 hours of music and it equates to around 70 CD's. The player comes with the iTunes package so all you need to do is download and copy the songs to the player. Alternatively, just load a CD on and copy that to the player. There are also four simple but fun games to play. The games are Parachutes, Solitaire, Brick and Music Quiz. Music Quiz is great fun as you try and match the song title to the song. The extras are endless, you can add addresses using Microsoft Outlook, there is a calender and a vast range of equalizer settings to name just...
THE GOOD: you can put thousands of songs, you could get all of you\r favourite and all the most hated songs on it and it still would be free space (depends on how much music you listen too tough)
THE BAD: uh... ugh... got no clue
SUMMARY: you can put thousands of songs, you could get all of you\r favourite and all the most hated songs on it and it still would be free space (depends on how much music you listen too tough) thats all. it is a great mp3 player. should have had more games tough
THE GOOD: Very portable, you can store so many songs to many to count!! it looks good when you hold it,it's comftable when you hold it also, the sound quality for it is also really good bottom line: BEST MP3 PLAYER OUT THERE RIGHT NOW!!!
THE BAD: it's white.it has earphones.
SUMMARY: Hey! This is my first hardware review and boy could it be a better piece of hardware? No.This is the apple iPOD and i love this thing!First off the sound quality for this machine is amazing!!Also this thing is very portable you can even put it in youre pocket and some times forget where it is.The earphones are also great. But it's white. It has earphones. This is expensive though so it won't fit everybodys budget because it's to bad they will miss out on a great machine. But the best thing about the iPOD is that it can hold thousands of songs on this so you can put all youre favourite songs and listen to them anytime!!Overall i highly recomend it but be warned it is...
THE GOOD: Ease of use iTunes compatible Lots of support and accesories Several colors Games (yes games on a mP3 player) Excellent sound quality 4 gigs hard drive Very popular
THE BAD: Price ($250) Battery life (8 hours)
SUMMARY: I have had this thing for a few months and I love it. The sound quality is really great. It is nice having a hard drive instead of a minidisk that way it loads faster. The famous click-wheel is really easy to use to cycle through menus to find the one song you are looking for.
There are very fw things that are bad about this however. The price is insane for a 4gig mp3 player. Also the battery life is only 8 hours. That seems like a lot, but it's really not. But all the postives of this far outweighs the bad. I do believe that it is worth the 250 dollars needed to buy this very popular music gadget.
