Well, this isn't help to finish the last battle.

On the left time in the Final Battle, you get Grit if you use Max for mission 4 in the Blue Team, Olaf if you destroy all his units in Olaf's Sea Strike (Mission 6), Max if if you did neither of those. However, they make sure of this by: if you use Andy for Mission 4, you unlock Olaf's Navy then Olaf's Sea Strike, however, if you use Max, you do not unlock those missions, to make sure you do not get mixed up with Olaf and Grit.

However, the right team.

You unlock Kanbei in the right team if you play Sonja's secret missions, but you get Eagle if you use Sami with all 4 Green Earth missions that are after Yellow Comet and do mission 22, but, Drake if you use Andy for those missions, but not unlocking mission 22.

Alright, this is the problem, I'll use Drake as an example instead of Eagle for the Green Earth CO's. You can both unlock all of Sonja's secret missions and finish them, AND use Andy for all the consecutive Green Earth missions after Yellow Comet. If you both complete all three Yellow Comet secret Missions AND use Andy for all 4 Green Earth Missions after that, which CO do you get on the right team? Drake, or Kanbei? Eagle is also the same story as Drake.

Uh... It has to be a random variable, i think you covered it well enough and it seems that would kind of *bleep* the game up, no? Maybe youd accually glitch the game out, that is if they never put that into the game.

But like i said before, maybe its just random at that point. The only way to find out for sure is to do it yourself. Though i thought i did all sonjas missions and completed green earth all with andy, so i think it may be random.

Sorry about the double post, but never mind, I got Eagle instead of Kanbei, and I think I know why.

This is the second time I've gone through the Advance Wars Campaign. In the first time's Final Battle, I had Max and Kanbei on purpose so i could unlock Sonja, and I had already done to secret Yellow Comet missions, and already have unlocked Sonja, and unlocked all Yellow Comet CO's, yet I haven't unlocked any of the Green Earth missions, and I have already done all secret Sonja missions, so that leaves Green Earth's part.

and just do them with andy.

Choose Sami for Captain Drake, Naval Clash, Wings of Victory, Battle Mystery - At the end of the campaign, you will have a final battle, between Andy (you) and Eagle

Well i finally unlocked every single CO besides Nell...

To play as a certain CO in the Final Battle and to unlock them read on.

OS Slot
Andy - You always play as Andy in the OS slot, he is unlocked from the start.

BM Slot
Max - Default BM CO, follow the Andy route in Max Strikes! And finish Olaf's Navy by HQ capture, he is unlocked from the start.

Olaf - Beat Olaf's Navy by Route to unlock Olaf's Sea Strike secret mission and win, unlocked from the start.

Grit - Follow the Max route in Max Strikes and use him in the mission Sniper! complete Final Battle or Rivals! to unlock Grit.

GE Slot
Sami - Default GE CO, beat Captain Drake, Naval Clash, Wings of Victory and Battle Mystery without relying on just Sami or Andy, unlocked from the start.

Drake - Beat Captain Drake, Naval Clash, Wings of Victory and Battle Mystery only using Andy, Beat Final Battle to unlock Drake, Drake isn't as important as Kanbei so if you've unlocked Kanbei for use in Final Battle for the same Campaign you have Drake for, you'll use Kanbei and not Drake.

Kanbei - Beat Kanbei Arrives! in 8 days or less, Mighty Kanbei! in 10 days or less and Kanbei's Error? in 12 days or less to unlock the secret Sonja missions, beat these to get Kanbei in Final Battle, Kanbei is more important than Drake but less important than Eagle, if you have unlocked Drake for use in Final Battle for the same Campaign as Kanbei then you will use Kanbei, but if you have unlocked Kanbei for the same Final Battle as Eagle you will use Eagle instead, Kanbei will be unlocked on completion of the Campaign regardless of what conditions have been met.

Eagle - Beat Captain Drake, Naval Clash, Wings of Victory and Battle Mystery only using Sami, beat Final Battle to unlock secret mission Rivals! and win to unlock Eagle, Eagle is more important than Kanbei, if you have unlocked Kanbei for use in Final Battle for the same Campaign as Eagle, you will use Eagle not Kanbei.

Non Playable Slot
Sonja - Complete the secret Sonja missions then finish the Campaign.

Nell - Complete Advance Campaign.

VS Sturm - Unlock and buy all other COs except Nell.

BH Slot
Campaign Sturm - Cheat.

Wrong again. In The Final Battle, the Green Earth CO's always came first, under all circumstances. The CO's were more epic back then, for Eagle costed 80 Wars coins to purchase, and Drake costed 70. Grit and Sonja costed 60, and Kanbei costed 50 Wars coins, thus, making him the cheapest and easiest to purchase. I also know this because I have done this myself.

I hate people who spread rumors, e.g: You have to beat the campaign to unlock Olaf.
