Buster Sword, Masamune, or Rapier? |
|
Out of the three legendary 1st Class SOLDIER weapons, which is your favorite?
I like Genesis' Rapier, it can channel fire spells through it and and grow various sizes (as seen during the Junon fight). ------------------- ![]() - Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days - Final Fantasy Dissidia - MegaMan Star Force 3: Black Ace/Red Joker -

Genesis's sword looks the coolest, but my favorite is the Buster Sword. It has a lot of history behind it, whereas the other two weapons don't really have much background.

I don't like the Rapier that much.
Buster sword is just a cool big blade. Although at the same time the masamune is one powerful katana. ------------------- < New Gamertag

I love the Masamune because their's only one person strong enough to wield it, it can only have one owner, who just happens to be one of my favourite characters in any game. Cant discount the Buster sword with all the history behind it though.

I don't like this Buster Sword.
It's too new. No ware or rust. The Buster Sword looks so much better in AC. But there's nothing specail about the Buster Sword. It's not even strong. It's the same strength as his initail sword and the beach umbrella. The Masamune is just long, nothing else. And Genesis' sword is magical. Magic makes everything better!

re: Buster Sword, Masamune, or Rapier? |
quote BigAnjoeYour kidding me right? You know the cutscene where all Sephy, Genesis and Angeal is fighting right? Sephiroth owned all of them with the Masamune blade, just cause it looks long and you don't see no sparkly crap like the Rapier doesn't mean anything. Masamune is the most powerful weapon in all FF7 universe i believe. Its powers are nothing like any other sword, and for some reason only Sephy can use it. And he basically destroyed the Junon cannon with his sword, cutting it like butter. Masamune blade owns. ------------------- Welcome to Crisis Core forum Welcome to Bad Company 2 God of War 3 official forum community

I still find it weird how the swords have their own attack power.
Like the Masamune being the strongest sword in all of VII. But of course there's some "logical" reason explaining it.

Tell me exactly where it says that the Masamune is the strongest sword in the FFVII Universe. I dare you. I will retort that it has never been stated.
Personally, I'm convinced that the Masamune is just a normal (though extra long) Katana, and that the only reason Sephiroth is the only one that can use it is just because effectively wielding something that size is pretty difficult. -------------------

re: Buster Sword, Masamune, or Rapier? |
quote swk3000Agreed. That's what I thought as well. But it might be the strongest in the in fact. Might never had been said, but there is the possibility of enhance them. For all we know, The Masamune could have +255 Attack/Strength, Break Damage Limit, 100% Death, and a Null Ability Effect. Or could be a normal Katana like swk3000 said, but since Sephiroth so strong, his power and the strength of the sword together is unmatched.

I like the Masamune...
Whether it is sephiroth doing the cutting or not... a Long thin sword like that shouldnt be able to take such powerful blows again and again... The masamune does have strength on its own for sure. Im not much of a magic user, and the buster sword is too bulky for me. making the masamune the perfect choice for me... -------------------

I do think that it's just a normal blade.
But enchanced by materia to give it abnormal strength. As Sephiroth is a enhanced being, why not his sword? But there isn't specail about the Buster Sword, or than it's sentimental value. But it looks so much better in AC when it's rusted and dirt crusted.

Like i said, that sword is built Specifically for Sephiroth, which means only He can Wield it, and whatever power it holds. I believe Clouds states this as well in FF7 the original. Only He can wield it. Although there is a cheat to get the sword in gameplay on the original game, I believe it was +255 Attack/Strength as BA said and some other stuff. And assuming that Sephiroth is the most powerful Villain in FF7 and quite possibly in FF universe, i would think the sword also has something to help that.
