	The older man in almost of of the screenshots we saw. The older male next to Genesis and Zack was the original man who owned the Buster Sword, or so they say. I dedicate this thread to him and all of his greatness. I'm expecting to see great things from this guy.

	Angeal and Genesis were the first big speriments by Shinra corp after using Mako energy on SOLDIER. The 2 great scientist Grimoire Valentine and Lucrecia Crescent created Angeal and Genesis. Angeal was created with the pure part of the lifestream and Genesis was created with the stagnant of the lifestream. You will see in Crisis Core that Angeal kills Genesis and buries him under Midgar. In that process Sephiroth is created by Hojo and Lucrecia with the J-Cells and then Angeal is slain by Sephiroth, leading to the events of FF7...

	I don't know if there's any plot summaries of the FF games from 1 - X-2 just lying around. But you don't need to know every FF's story, to understand CCs story. As long as you've played the FFVII Compilation games: FFVII and FF: DoC, you'll get the gist of what we're talking about. (FF: BC isn't really neccessary, but it will also help get an understanding on certain characters). Anyways ... Angeal and Genesis are new to the FFVII world. Here's some info on them from Wikipedia quote Wikipedia Angeal: A SOLDIER that works together with Zack. From the way he speaks, it seems he has seniority over Zack. Moreover, it seems that he is also in a position of guidance in techniques and doctrines. His troubles and ties seem to be a vital element to the story of this game. He is the mentor of not only Zack but a mentor to others in SOLDIER as well, and seems to be on good terms with fellow SOLDIER Sephiroth. He is presumed to be the previous wielder of the Buster Sword which Cloud inherited from Zack. Also, for some reason, Angeal does not like using the Buster Sword, claiming while explaning to Zack from the TGS '06 trailer that he believes it would be "a waste". Angeal's design seems to be based on Tetsuya Nomura's original design for Cloud Strife. It was recently revealed in the TGS '06 trailer for Crisis Core that he bears two white wings on his back. Though this seems to cause him some internal conflict as he considers it the trait of a monster, Zack instead suggests that they are "the wings of an angel". He is later seen talking to Zack, asking Zack to fight alongside him, saying "Our enemies are all those who torment the Planet." 	Angeal was the original holder yeah, but he dies in Crisis core. How he dies is questionable at this stage, but i feel it is linked to genesis! Angeal defeats genesis, sealing him underneath midgar...but dies doing so! He then passes on the buster to zack! Then...well we all know what happens then! ------------------- SpirasDestiny.Net

	Alot of people critisize Genesis because he's based on Gackt but to be honest... In the Secret Ending he really does eminate as much power as i would feel from Sephiroth. I really think Squeenix have Outdone themself with him, he seems ownage.

	Does Angeal not use the Buster Sword?? In the preview does he say he only uses it to hold Materia in it or am I getting mixed up by the translation? Also, in the fight against sephiroth he uses a differnt sword and keeps the Buster Sword on his back ------------------- TRISTAN ASHE

I personally don't like Genesis that much. His wing was outrageously large in the secret ending. Of course, I don't know much about him yet, so I'll reserve my judgement until I play the game. But so far, he's only mildly interesting. I'm more interested in Angeal, even though Angeal seemed quite plain, at least in design. (Although I do like Gackt). As for Angeal... 	I watched it again and he says something about not wanting to use the Buster Sword because he'd be getting such a beautiful sword rusty and then Zack comments about how large a weapon it is just to be used to hold materia. 	Found this thread on google looking for something else, but I'll throw in my information from my playthrough. The Buster was a gift to Angeal after he was accepted into SOLDIER. His father nearly bankrupted his family buying it, and died shortly after. To Angeal, the Buster represents his personal sense of honor and dignity, passed down to him by his family. This is why he uses it so little and cares for it so much. The only occassions I recall him using it, as a opposed to a generic Shinra blade or hadn to hand, where to protect or confront Zack. He told Zack, "You're a little more important than my sword. But only a little." Zack thought he was joking or putting him down, but later realizes the importance of the sword and that statement. It shows that to Angeal, Zack is family.

	SPOILER ALERT: This has spoilers. Angeal and Genesis were both from project G, Angeal was full of G genes, Genesis only partly full. Genesis degraded while Angeal was pure. A doctor named Hollander is experimenting on Angeal and Zack sees it. Angeal reminds Zack that he said he'd stop all suffering, and says for Zack to kill him. He then fuses with monsters, gives Zack a scar, Zack kills him, and gets the buster from his dead teacher, which represented his honor.
