Hi all, I'm on day 7 with joshua and trying to beat Sho Minamimoto and having a really hard time. I'm level 33 with 1863HP, but I hardly make a dent in the yellow bar before he kills me.

I don't have a great selection of pins, so that's probably some of the problem. What pins do you recommend I use to beat him?

I also only have 4 pin slots available, is that where I should be at this point?

I would use ranged pins, but it's more an issue of getting your multiplier up.

I think by then I had at least five slots... You increase them by buying extra slot stickers. I don't know where to find them off the top of my head though.
As for Sho, I find it's a matter of moving around all the time. Dash pins work well for me. Also, when using Josh, make sure if Sho's on ground level then Josh is floating, and when Sho's in the air that Josh is on the ground. It makes it a bit easier to dodge his attacks.

use lightning rook or excalibur or that type of pin. it can dmg sho easily coz its dmg range is wide. other than that yeh move around a bit maybe with fox. i dunno if u have access to fox yet or not.

Excalibur can only be gained through the Bonus Final Boss, and the Fox pin requires Ultimate, which I don't think can be accessed yet.

Lightning Rook should be fine though.

How do you get Josh to float?

You press 'up' on the directional pad. You don't need to hold it down.

Hmm... Lightning Rook is very useful. Also try using Kanesada.

Its a bit obvious, but you have tried killng Sho in Easy mode, right?

There is no shame in it: once you finish the game, you can go back and re-play each day, and anyway if you want to complete all enemy drops you'll have to kill him on easy eventually.

Plus, make sure the drops bar is at its minimum, to increase your HP greatly.

Make sure both characters have good clothing on, or at least clothing in every slot, ideally with abilities which can be used by the characters.

And Finally, make sure your synch is 100% by making them both eat food before the battle.

Then make sure to effectively use the light puck, heres an easy way how to: do a complete combo with either character, then dont do anything else with that char. When the other char has the puck, do a complete combo with that one. Keep passing the puck back and forth this way for massive damage increase. Remember that you want to pass the puck as soon as a character receives it, so you should eventually learn to start a combo while the puck is still moving.

As said they are obvious, but I am guessing that if you didnt know Joshua could float (a fact told by the game during the storyline), then you may not know of these.

Lightning Rook evolves from Thunder Rook, but I can't get TR until week 3 day 5, according to the Wiki. Since I'm on week 2, I guess I can't use that yet.

I will try easy and I'll also try the floating thing. I typically don't pay much attention to the top screen. Guess I better learn!

I presonally recommend Lightning rage or Lightning anger,when Sho comes up to attack Neku,just drag neku behind him,and quickly blow into the mic. The nice thing about lightning anger/rage is that they are very powerful,and they're quick to activate.


BTW,If you can spare the pin slot,get a speed factor pin,it makes your pins recharge faster. And if you're using cure drink,get supply boost (again,if you can spare the pin slot),it'll take the 3 heals up to 5.

I'm surprised that you two managed to survive the taboo. You can't beat them unless you know how to use both screens.

Hey Wolverine, cool tip if you havent tried it out yet: for both blowing and shouting pins, there is no need to do either: a light tap on the microphone will achieve the same effect -helped me look less of a spas on the bus to work

I prefer to just blow into the mic,It's easier for me to combo it with my Yoshimitsu that way .
