So, from the latest PSM3 magazine, they have said that AC6 is to be released this year on the PS3... take a look at the source for the images of the magazine... maybe this forum isn't in vain after all

Once again, I'm 100% unconvinced unless Namco says so themselves. Sorry if I seem like an ass to you, but I just don't want to get excited over rumours.

And so far, Namco hasn't said a word. You'd think by now they would've replied to these rumors. They just won't say a word.

You don't understand how the timed-exclusive contract process works. Promoting the game on another format works against capitalizing on any exclusivity at all. Not until the contract has expired can they say anything "official" - that said, word can still spread around to those in charge of shipping/receiving titles for distribution, and these resources are usually tapped when the horses mouth is shut.

All signs, as said, point towards this scenario fitting with the timed release setup. It's still a damned dirty trick though, and I find myself re-evaluating the series (and Ace 06), dwelling on the "coulda', Shoulda', didn't" of Namco's practices.

Don't mention Xenosaga around me either, and i'm still fuming over the fact that Namco/Bandai has had two crummy Gundam games on the PS3, but "Mobile Ops: The One Year War" is getting plenty of fine tuning that the developer/publisher's fanbase on the Playstation formats has been without since "Journey to Jaburo" on the PS2.

They're all about money, and it's easier for them to port a game than create a whole new one. Once they're legally able to do so they'll market it, and the likely 'Hori Flightstick 3' for the PS3. (Far as I know, there isn't a flight stick available for the PS3 yet, and if they managed to make it work with other games like Warhawk, etc, then they stand to make more profits from that as the stick would likely be sold as a bundle pack with Ace 6, as the flightstick 2 was bundled with Ace Combat 5.

So do we have any inclination as to how LONG M$'s exclusive contract lasts?

PS: Played the AC6 demo at Best Buy; apart from the pretty visuals and more expansive 1st person view, I wasn't impressed. Controls felt sluggish, the missiles had back lock on, the AI was trash, and overall, it wasn't much. I understand they tried to make it more sim-like, but I expect responsive controls from AC; it's an arcade flying game, not a sim. The day AC becomes a sim is the day I stop buying it.

I know watcha mean. There's so much false advertising and speculation rumors out there, it'll make your brain cells die.

I wouldn't say it's a failure. I know a whole community who tout it as the best AC to date. I dunno for sure, I've never played the final game, but the demo made me say "meh".

I've been an AC loyalist since part 4, when i got into the series, and it really irritated me when they released it exclusivly for Xbox360..WTF was that about? at any rate, i do wish and hope that the AC series comes back to PS, be it with 6, or the next entry to the series, b/c while xbox has some decent games...i refuse to buy and xbox of any sort over 1 or 2 games i like for it...so its PS, or i dont play it..

Indeed, I never saw the point in buying a console purely over two games. I made sure I found at least four games on the PS3 I liked before I bought it. Plus, I could play my PS2 online games because PS3 has wireless connectivity.

Okay..now is there any information related to the AC6 for PS-3 ?

Obviously it's a bogus rumor. So far Namco's done Eternal Sonata and Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for PS3, so I doubt AC6 will be on PS3, at least not anytime soon.
