Weapon Reliability Issues... |
|
I have a question about the Dart Rifle(for those of you who use(d) it)
I've been using it for the past two days because well, it's amazing. However, I noticed that it breaks down incredibly fast, even with the upgrades which I DO have and obtain for every weapon that I purchase. I use the Dart Rifle with an M16 and Silenced Pistol on the same plain, and I noticed that the Dart Rifle still deteriorates much faster than either of them, even though technically I get more use out of those than the Dart Rifle I'm just wondering if anybody else is having this problem, because as much as I love the rifle for extremely stealthy insertions, it's getting annoying to me how it goes bad to quickly. I'm seriously considering just switching to a Rocket & Grenade Launcher/LMG Setup at this point. Gets the job done just as fast I'm sure. ------------------- ![]() "Soft words bled from beauty..and lips to mine.."

Yeah, it does seem to die on you quite quickly. I just pick up a new one everytime I go past a weapon shop.
You could use one of the other sniper rifles. They don't have the silencers, but if you shoot, stay still for about, 10-20 seconds, and relocate, you should be alright with it. -------------------

But the reason that I like the Dart Rifle is that it doesn't take up room in Primary or Secondary, so I can still have a good combination of weaponry without going completely heavy with my setup.
I WAS using the .50 cal to snipe if my cover got blown, but realized that I'm not too great of a shot on moving targets in FC, and that I'm not too great with pistols over distances of 30 or so feet, so I had to change my Primary to make me less vulnerable I guess it's either Stealth or Explosives at this point for me ------------------- ![]() "Soft words bled from beauty..and lips to mine.."

The dart rifle is great. Nothing seems to break down for me that much though. Just pick up a new set of weapons every time you go past an armory. You should be able to send at least 25 rounds through without a jam. If it jams before then, than I guess your just unlucky. Maybe for primary pick the much more reliable AK47 than the AR15.

Well as an example, I can get full use out of a new Dart Rifle through one faction mission (you know, the standard point and kill).
Which is fine with me, except that after that it's totally useless. My other guns last much longer, and I haven't experienced any Jam's with the AR or the Uzi, which are both in my setup along with the Dart Rifle/Switching off with the RPG. I guess I'm just extremely unlucky. ------------------- ![]() "Soft words bled from beauty..and lips to mine.."

Hm. I have never found it deteriorating that quickly, but then again, I do go to the weapons shop after every mission to get new weapons and restock on ammunition.

I find that the Uzi has one of the worst reliabilities, usually a brand new one locked up on me after only a few reloads. The MAC-10 was far better. The heavy grenade launcher IMO lasted quite a while before requiring replacement. Overall I find the weapon reliability issue pretty ridiculous, they totally exaggerate its effect.

That's what I thought over the course of the entire game T.T
I don't think I should need to get new weapons after every new mission. The Silenced Marakov(love that thing) probably lasted me the longest time over missions. Sure doesn't say much for the other primary weapons.. ------------------- ![]() "Soft words bled from beauty..and lips to mine.."

quote yusuke123That's what I found the MOST tedious about the game. Not only are we required to go on endless drives for meetings and missions (why can't meetings take place over the phone? Clearly the anonymous assassination requests come through there) but we're required to make frequent trips to the weapons dealer or a Safe house to replace jammed weapons. And apparently neither the UFLL nor the APR need to fire their weapons b/c those are the worst maintained weapons you ever see in any game. No wonder they need 10 guys to try to kill you, their weapons barely want to fire at all! You're telling me a bunch of these fictional rebels with nothing to do 10hrs a day except walk around a perimeter can't spend some of that time cleaning and maintaining the gear that might save their life?! I do enjoy how the weapons reliability forced you into situations where an ill prepared player might be using inferior equipment and be under constant strain making it through dangerous areas, but the frustration and repetitiveness of replacing weapons is quite bad. If they had placed a weapons shop in each city (where many meetings take place) that might have made things alot easier -_- ------------------- The further back you can look, the farther ahead you can see. <paraphrased> - Winston Churchill
