Specs |

Figuring how beautiful I anticipate this game to be, does anyone know the recommmended specs? I found the minimum, but I want to make sure the video card I'm getting is at least decent enough to run it on high. I'm almost positive it is though. It's a Radeon HD 4850.
Quick specs for reference: Core 2 Quad Q6600 4GB DDR2 800 Radeon HD 4850 600W PSU 2TBs in HDD space (when this comes out, beforehand I'm getting a 1.5TB drive). ------------------- ![]()

I couldn't find any recommended specs either but apart from having too much RAM and physical memory to play the game (j/k) your HD4850 should be capable of handling Mirror's Edge at high settings. The game uses the Unreal 3 Engine which is known for producing some great visuals without too demanding a drain on the GPU. Bioshock also runs on the Unreal 3 Engine so if you can run that game smoothly at "High" the chances are you can do roughly the same (with a slight drop in FPS) when Mirrors Edge comes out.

Lol, I guess I should update my specs, I had to settle for the 4830, and I haven't gotten my 1.5tb drive yet. But... I completely rape Bioshock.

you guys suck at research
IGN has it on their site (and has since Dec 9) Minimum System Requirements Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP SP2/Vista Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz or 100% compatible equivalent Memory: 1GB RAM Video Card: 256MB memory with Shader Model 3.0* HDD Space: 8GB DVD Drive: 1x DVD Drive Soundcard: Soundcard with DirectX 9.0c compatibility DirectX: DirectX 9.0c Network: An online connection is required for access to Leaderboards Why would a game need 3.0 for minimum? I only have like 2.8

re: Specs |

You should be able to run it just fine. And do you have a single core processor or multiple?

Nagare, the 3.0 P4 isn't a good CPU at all.

I just looked at the processor speed, so would that mean I could easily run it?
I can run, Bioshock, TF2, CSS, Portal, Half Life 2...

re: Specs |
quote NagareErrmmm Nagare, you may only have 2.2 Ghz per chip but you have FOUR of them in your quad-core processor, that's more than enough to run the game. So has anyone here been able to run the game smoothly with the Physx effects handled by the CPU rather than the GPU? As the Physx engine is owned by Nvidia that's the only option available to those of us with ATI cards rather than Nvidia cards. My PC has a humble ATI Radeon 1GB 3850 backed up by 2GB RAM and a Q660 processor but can't quite handle the Physx effects when the action heats up. If I turn anti-aliasing off and the graphics quality down to Medium then the framerate is bearable but I'm a bit gutted to be missing out on the full experience to be honest. Check out this video if you want to know what all the fuss is about: -------------------
