I was looking around IGN and they have a page setup for Bioshock 3... It could be bogus, I'm not sure how reliable stuff like that is on there but it said it hasn't been announced it's just in the works... I know Bioshock 2 isn't even out yet but if they did plan on making a 3rd it seems logical that they'd have something going already... Maybe it's like movies, once they decide on doing a sequal they plan ahead for a third and possible fourth... Even though I haven't played Bio 2 I can say with some confindence that Bioshock would make an amazing trilogy...

Just once I'd like to see one of these game series end with two games. Just because.

Parasite Eve ended with just two games... I love those games... I just think a third Bioshock would be awesome because right now I just want more... We'll see how I feel in November...

I'm not even going to bother with the second one if a potentially better third one is coming out.

I really don't know about this as a third one is being planned and they still aren't even done with the second one.

As a general rule i think games should end at too cuz most of the time the third sequal just sucks, There have been some execptions though

Well, Bioshock two looks like it's taking us back to all the things we loved about the first one, which might not be a great thing. Bioshock was good primarily because it was something we had never seen or experienced before. But I'm hoping it will surprise us, and feel as awesome, original and groundbreaking as the first. That'll be very, very hard to do, and if they can pull that off in a second game, I don't know how the heck they could pull it off in a third.

what if they pull a matrix reloaded/revelations thing and write it as one story but split it into two parts... that would suck, huh... the third one is probably not even being considered at all... they probably should just leave it at two... and think up a whole new game rather than playing off the bioshock success... like the new MGS game that's being developed just because there's still money to be made off the name alone... stoopid bastards...

Pretty sure Bioshock 3 was confirmed by 2K. They said they wanted to make Bioshock a franchise, and the third would be released at about the same time as the movie IIRC.

I am not surprised they were going to make a 3rd one, but the news of it right away is pretty quick.

if they make it a franchise they'll probably take it away from Rapture eventually... that'll be weird...

Well Rapture is a whole huge city. They could fit a hundred stories in there if they wanted to write them carefully enough. After all, the Multiplayer for this one is based around the Rapture civil war, I don't see why they couldn't eventually write a single player game around that eventually if they wanted to do a sequel. That's just one example.

I'm too excited about Bioshock 2 to even begin to wonder about Bioshock 3. If Bioshock 2 sells well, then I don't believe there to be any reason why a Bioshock 3 wouldn't be created. It really would ruin the series if the writers created plot holes and such though.
